50 cents? Here's your 50 cents!

A sign outside of the Quincy Goodwill says that because of a federal recall toy donations cannot be accepted until further notice. LAAAME.
I must have been asked 4 different times if i worked there today.

I thought I was gonna get out pretty cheap today with only this book:

But then I made it over to the records and found a bunch of good ones, like Pink Floyd's A Nice Pair Uruguay Import and Led Zeppelin's first LP:

Then I found a few glasses:

And this beautiful marble and some other stone chess board...for 5 dollars!

Don't put anything on my back

Went to Harrison ave today.

A Johnny Bench's Home Plate Restaurant glass:

A few books; the one on the right is from 1864 and in good condition:

A Genesis, that was marked down like 4 times and finally at a reasonable price:

After, I went into their "outlet store" thats located on the side of the building and it is what I expected, JUNK! It has potential, laundry carts of books, but you have to have patience and I have no ambition to go through the dregs of goodwill leftovers.

Stopped at Quincy afterwards and saw nothing worth buying.

That's Marvin Gaye, woo yeah!

A bit of an absence due to computer problems / work, but I'm back.

Yesterday just took a quick stop in Quincy and got these nice heavy Heineken glasses:

Today I went in there and saw the laundry cart of books which is now a rare occurrence, took advantage of it and came away with some nice ones:

After, I went into Central Sq. for the first time in 3 weeks. This place is becoming my stop for video games; yet another Dreamcast:

Also got an unopened WWII video tape, maybe this will finally get me to hook up a vcr to my computer and make it a dvd:

You're starting to push my patience

Quincy:

This awesome talking Simpsons diorama thing:

A miniature ( about 2") Berlin stein:

This amazing vintage Buffalo Sabers sweater jersey, its easily from the 70s and looks like it was never worn:

Davis Square:

I haven't been here in weeks, it used to be my favorites store but it has gone way downhill. The book selection has been cut in half, and the wares and electronics are basically junk. Did manage to get a couple of things though.

Can't tell if its vintage or not, but nevertheless an awesome Celtics foam souvenir:

I haven't seen these "hall of shame" sports books since grade school:

Put down the stuffed animals

It's not the first time I've seen this done at the goodwill. There will be an old suitcase or musical instrument case locked with a ridiculous price tag on it, like its some sort of time capsule full of riches.

In Quincy:

Nirvana, Lithium cd single:

Some nice books:

Brockton Amvets:

Some nice sweaters:

Pints; Another one of the Foster's ones, but there is a different type of surfboard on the back so I picked it up. (I'm a sucker for completing sets)

Thursday, September 13, 2007

You gonna play with them?

Transformers!, not the old-school ones but still:

Foster's, Australian for... way too many glasses and not enough room:

You know you're a tourist if you're wearing that

To the handful of people who actually read this thing, I'm back.
Stopped over to Quincy to get these Celtics pilsner glasses:

Went over to Harrison ave, originally had some Genesis games but gave them to someone who was buying the whole bundled set, what a nice guy I am.

Went to the Brockton Amvets and got some more glasses, they've been having a good selection lately:

and another Genesis game:

Vacation Time!

This is my last post for at least a week. I'll be in Key West until the 9th, the 10th I'm gonna be busy and the 11th I'm back to work so who knows when I'll be up and at it again.

Some more records:

Some more glasses:

And another book:

I hope it's bullet-proof

Finally, some sort of militaria, in the form of a foreign helmet. Not sure exactly which country ( a little help BOB!) The name on the inside is: Sepp Bariswyl. So I'm thinking Norway or Finland.
