Chronicles of Narnia ( complete all-in-one volume), Night of the Long Knives and Panzer Aces:

I found a Dell Latitude laptop from 1998 for 25 dollars but it wasn't worth the effort to reinstall an OS into it.

I'm on a first-name basis with most of the employees here now. Norman, one of the supervisors and a cool shit. He goes out of his way to bring out things to my attention. When he asked what could be done to make the store better I said bring out the laundry carts of books, and he did.

May 9th seems to be the grand opening of the Comm ave. store, I hope thats not the date because it's a Friday and I work a double shift.

Plenty more vinyl (from left): Gypsy Mandolin!, Gypsy Esma, Promenade En Russie, Ukrainian Songs and Dances: George Bohachevsky and Gleb Yellin, Russian Cabaret: The Balalaika of Sasha Polinoff, Cossack Dances, Songs and Dances of the Ukraine, Ivan Rebroff sings Folk Songs from Old Russia, and Ivan Rebroff:

AC/DC For Those About to Rock We Salute You:

The only reason I bought this book on Nostradamus was for it's section on WWII, and the awesome propaganda posters It shows:

Nice heavy mugs, a 1982 Rastal glass Feldschlosschen and an A&W root beer stand glass:

Wow, never would've expected to find a Nintendo DS game, at least not for a few years.
Brain Age:

The record horde continues. From Left: Pink Floyd The Dark Side of the Moon, Pink Floyd The Wall (2xlp), Willie Nelson Greatest Hits (2xlp), Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band (Soundtrack 2xlp), The Beatles Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band ( this is my second copy, but this one is in much better shape), Eddie Murphy Comedian:

Picking up a lot of records lately. From left:

The Beatles Abbey Road ( No sleeve), Paddington For Christmas, Ghostbusters Soundtrack, Around the World in 80 Days ( not the soundtrack, it's a children's adventure story adaptation), Mary Hopkin 45 where she covers Those Were The Days and Turn, Turn, Turn, Misterogers Let's Be Together Today, The Wizard of Oz soundtrack, Yes Drama, Cindi Lauper She's So Unusual.

This woman ahead of me in line spent $153 dollars! She had like 20 bags of things. Mostly everything in that store is 25 cents, and clothes are $1.99, nothing gets over $10, and that might be for a radio or tv or furniture, so spending that much money is hard to do.

3 cd's; Madness Best of Madness, Neil Young Unplugged, Grateful Dead Skeletons From the Closet:

Danny! Danny! Danny!

First Monday in a while that I haven't gone into Boston. I decided that I haven't been to a few other places in a while so why not give them a shot, plus I took that 1959 Zenith record player I got not too long ago and found a place to have it serviced; Atlantic Systems Electronics in Hanover.

Hanover

Nice coincidence that this Salvation Army is near that repair center. As usual, plenty of overpriced items ($50 for this shitty old set of kitchen chairs). I had my eye on a turntable entertainment center for $2(!!) but couldn't figure out where I would put it in my room so it stayed.
It's not too often I'll pay 10 dollars for a book at a thrift store, but I'll make an exception when I come across something as good as this: Illustrated Encyclopedia of Military Aircraft 1914 to Present.

Boring day in there today. All I grabbed was a much needed cd tower ( complete with dust):

And this weird booklet from a thing called World of Illusions from the late 1960s. It's basically an illusion kit manual for kids. I grabbed it for the cool artwork, that I'll probably end up using on something:

Thursday, April 3, 2008
