I'll take that, I'll take that

Quincy

I've notice that goodwill Quincy is emphasizing their boutique area more. Unfortunately it seems that things that shouldn't be in there get there. A couple of nice hardcover books on Boston and ships, but for some reason they were priced at 4.99. Some good dvd sets from the history channel, one on the Civil War and the other on Generals of WWII, both for 24.99. This is a thrift store not Bestbuy.

Picked up this PSP game for the sole reason of adding another game to my collection. My first one from that system:

Rolling Stones Going to a Go Go 45:

What a cool find. This is a GE Telechron Model 4F61 " Pharoh" clock. These were manufactured between 1934-1942. Works perfectly:

You cannot block the fire extinguisher or the hose

Outlet
---

Went into the outlet before the regular store, that was a first. The book collector's were out in full force being their usual pains in the asses. I even saw the one that used to be in Quincy all the time, haven't seen him in over a year. Did manage to get in there and snag this great book on old horror movies:

What are the odds that I find this? My favorite WWII documentary ( and one without peer); The World At War soundtrack on vinyl. I was so psyched to find this and its in NM condition being played probably once or twice. Who says a quarter can't buy anything these days. Prices list it between 12-20 dollars, and its the English pressing too:

This place is a ghost town, with the outlet getting all the business. Picked up another Mister Rogers record, but was pissed when I found a Dr. Seuss one and it was empty:

Pete's Wicked Lager pint glass:

Just sitting in front of me on the shelf was this nice Reader's Digest ( I usually skip through anything that starts with that) True Stories of World War II:

Lightly toasted

I was everywhere today but not much to show. Went to Quincy and they had this portable Russian TV, which when you think about it is a useless item in itself being that the plug doesn't match our outlet and the fact that TV's like this will be obsolete next February when we go digital.

I like odd records as you may have noticed. Add two more to the pile; Mister Rogers and George Burns:

Would have picked up some Genesis games at Central if it wasn't for the cashier eating a sloppy sandwich and licking his fingers, grossssss.

Everything is on the verge of falling off the shelves

Quincy
---

A good mix of books today. One on Holocaust testimonies, another on Norman Rockwell and one on Thai cooking:

I'm excited about this next one and its not because of the item itself. Here we have Las Vegas Poker & Blackjack for Intellivision, steal factory sealed and with the tv hookup included. This is how it is bundled in with the system. I'm excited because somewhere there is a perfectly new Intellivision system lying around and either I already missed it or its going to be put out in the next few days.

This shirt looks and feels great. European slim fit:

Biggest cd haul yet. The Beatles Please Please Me, Radiohead Pablo Honey, Led Zeppelin IV, Led Zeppelin In Through The Out Door, Cypress Hill Black Sunday, Guns N' Roses Use Your Illusion I & II, Red Hot Chili Peppers Blood Sugar Sex Magik, AC/DC Back In Black:

Although my musical tastes are much different now, I still enjoy these albums. And why not for the fraction of the cost at a used cd store.

My phone is not a piece of shit

I was told by one of the supervisors that there is a new Goodwill opening up in Brighton soon, it will specialize in "high-end" merchandise, whatever the hell thats supposed to mean. Oh I know, more money in Goodwill's pockets.

My room should be fully organized by week's end thanks to this cd tower I can get them off of the floor:

A Blade Runner graphic novel:

A Peroni beer glass. We had these in work a while back, although a little smaller. They didn't last a month because the dishwashers broke them and customers stole them:

Here I am

Hitting a little bit of a dry spell. Nothing much happening in Quincy the last few days, and yesterday I got sidetracked because of escalator problems at Davis Sq., so I refused to take the shuttle at Harvard in the bitter cold.

Harrison Ave

They had this nice solid state Zenith console record player/ stereo, but the $60 price tag turned me away from even plugging it in to test it out.

Just these books:

Tons of books there today, nothing notable though. They cleared out the hundreds of cds and vinyl but I did manage to snag this beauty:

The only thing to do in the winter is read

Quincy

A Walt Disney record, 1964; Peter and the Wolf and The Sorcerer's Apprentice. Still has the 11-page storybook inside:

First off, I hate Star Wars. The only reason I picked this glass up is because there are always people out there that are missing that one glass to complete their set. So with that said, 1980 Empire Strikes Back, Darth Vader and Boba Fett Burger King glass, and The Muppets 1981 McDonald's glass:

These amazing dinosaur glasses:

An old-school blown out Pepsi bottle:

An original hand-painted and hand-made Austrian Stein, I'm surprised the cap is still on it:

You need shoes to make you taller

Quincy

Whenever I have the feeling to skip a day after already being there the day before, I remember how I could lose out on some good stuff. If I never went today I wouldn't have found this beautiful 1-Liter stein:

Its from a Lowenbraukeller Munchen restaurant, unused condition.

I've seen a lot of German things lately. Particularly books and records. It usually takes a few days for all the stuff from a particular donation to get on the shelves. I'm hoping for something big and that I can get a hold of it.

back to business...

These books:

From Left: A book about war regalia, tons of color illustrations and photos of military uniforms, medals, WWI plane decorations, division insignias, etc. UN fortunately only a few pages are dedicated to Nazi regalia. I did however find an amazing SS recruiting poster in those pages, but thats all I'll say on this topic because my WWII blog doesn't exist (yet). Still a great book.
The next book is a good LIFE book on Pearl Harbor, and the other is an illustrated book on every important beer from every part of the world ( goodbye liver).

Killian's Pint:

A PS2 controller that apparently doesn't work, so I opened it up:

A book on Medal of Honor recipients and their stories, and one on a tail gunner with the RAF during WWII:

Quincy

Two more books; Altered States and H.S. Thompson's Hell's Angels:
