Quincy

A couple of very unique finds today. First off, a young girl's (Lottie E. Fleisher) book with greetings from her friends adorning the pages. It is dated June 18th, 1882:


The handwriting as expected from the era is beautiful, and so are the contents:

Friend Lottie:
Go through in life's fair morning
Go through in the bloom of youth
And buy for thy adorning
That precious pearl of truth

In remembrance of your friend,
(handwriting too ornate to understand):


The second item is probably from the same era as I found them bundled together. A leather-bound book cover with the initials C G L on the spine:
