I saw Danny the Vietnamese guy and he saw me looking at the records and he told me he was looking to sell a lot of his stuff because he got laid off and he was pretty much hurting financially. This was a guy, who last year I would see constantly making the rounds at the thrift stores and even going to auctions. He drove a a 2007 Infinity SUV and looked well. Apparently he went to Vietnam for a few months and came back and lost his job. He got into a car accident which he came out ok but his SUV was wrecked and he couldn't afford to keep a car on the road.
So he asked me if I wanted to buy about 500 records and a record player for 40 dollars, I said I'd go with him to look but wouldn't guarantee anything. I sorted through all the records and found The Soul Searchers "Salt of the Earth" in great condition and offered him a buck for it. I also picked up a case of about 50 45s for 5 dollars, which included Johnny Cash on Sun records "Big River/ Ballad of a Teenage Queen" . Then he was trying to sell me anything and everything and I picked up a Tony Gwynn rookie card for 5 dollars. I also promised to buy this nice 80s racing bike for 10 bucks later on when the weather was a bit nicer.
