...and this woman hands me a copy of DUNE. Listen lady I know I'm a nerd but not that much of a nerd. Went to three places today. Hit up Davis Sq. first, this place always has the most selection. Saw a N64 and a Genesis but picked up neither because they both looked like they went through WWIII. Most books EVER today, but sometimes too much of something is a bad thing. They had 5 laundry carts overflowing with books but it was impossible to browse because there was no place to put the discarded ones. Some lady was painstakingly entering in ISBN numbers into her smartphone trying to look for rare and valuable books. Good idea but you need to know when there is a good find otherwise you'll be there all day. I still have 7 months left on this current plan so I'll have to wait on portable internet. I do have an idea to use my Nintendo DS to go online but I'll have to see if i can steal a wi-fi connection in the stores.
Didn't pick up much got these awesome records:
Went to Central after. Someone donated 3 1980s Apple Macintosh computers. I hate Apple now, but back in the day those computers were amazing and if one of them actually worked you bet your ass one would be in our living room. A man was searching for toys for his child when he came across this talking Bratz doll. It said " I can't believe I have to get up at 8 O'clock". I picked up a hardcover copy of Cold Mountain for one of the waitresses at work and that ended that saga.
Last but certainly not least Quincy comes through!
Picked up a Virtual Boy! Ahh the long forgotten Nintendo failure. Of course the stand is missing and the goggle apparatus which is going to make this thing impossible to play but whatever, i couldn't resist. It came with Virtual Boy Wario Land:
Next on this list is a RCA fully automatic turntable:
Lastly I should note i picked up a glass from each place today:
But before I go here is a conversation I had with some little black girl:
First she asks me if I work there. Then...
Girl: What are you going to do with that? ( referring to this giant stuffed spider)
Me: I might buy it just because my roommate hates spiders.
Girl: Wait, you live with someone who isn't your family?
Me: Yes, I live with a bunch of people.
Girl: Is it because you are poor?
awesome.
