I don't work on Mondays. Everyone else in the free world does. So what do I do while everyone is at work? What do you think.
The Quincy Goodwill yielded nothing today. May I add, this place is down the street from my apartment so I hit it up 5 days a week, usually before work. This store is in the process of renovating. Hopefully it will be more organized, it's an absolute disaster and almost none of the electronics work. I usually do a clean up job here ever since the Vietnamese guy who practically lived there got banned for stealing a few months back.
So onward to Harrison Ave in Roxbury. This is as far into Roxbury as anyone should ever have to go. Had a nice conversation with a woman who took matters into her own hands by stealing after being overpriced on so many items only to find them cheaper at Urban Renewal. She does have a point. I have yet to figure out Goodwill's pricing structure. There were two Playstation One's side-by-side today. One was 19.99 ( a rip off) and the one next to it was 6.99 ( thats more like it). Why the price difference? Does the 6.99 one not work? Not that you could even test it if you wanted to. It was console only. So its buy at your own risk because there is no return policy on electronics. Anways...
Picked up a Playstation One controller:
An unopened copy of Boston's Greatest Sports Stories: Beyond the Headlines DVD ( for a buck!):
...and a few nice glasses. More notably the first one, A .5 liter Lowenbrau stein which has a U.S. Embassy stamp from Bonn on the side of it. And the second one, a Samuel Smith Pint Imported from England with the Government Stamp etched in the back:
The stein will go great with the set of four 1-Liter Lowenbrau's I got last week:
Later on I headed into Brockton to go to the AMVETS, which like Harrison I go once a month. I haven't been here in probably two months though because the quality of finds is low. But today was a pretty good one.
Got a Mario/Duckhunt NES game. I need another one of these like I need another hole In my head:
A couple of more glasses, especially the late 1960's Red Sox glass on the right:
And the find of the day....a record player that actually WORKS! After so many failed attempts, I got this General Electric Solid-State Automatic. Plays 33s, 45s, 78s, and even 16s. I was totally rocking my World War I narration and anthems tonight:

Ahh. The uploading of photos onto one's blog makes for a much more visually stimulating blogging experience. I shall have to take notes.
Good stuff, though. Where's your badass Batman clock??
